:: About Infinity Engine ::
In December 1998 Baldur's Gate was released into the gaming community and was an instant hit. This game provided fans of role-playing games a world and storyline that was highly detailed and non-restrictive as well as being faithfull to the rules of AD&D.
Since the initial release there has been many websites devoted to Baldur's Gate (and the additional sequels) that provide hints and tips, walkthroughs and maps to help the gamer progress further into the lower levels of the games, however if you are looking for these here then you will be sadly disappointed as that is not the function of this site.
The aim of this website is to offer more than what the original games did by allowing gamers to expand and alter the rules with use of the Infinity Engine, the underlying backbone of the game. Here you will find many items to add to the game itself to improve character abilities and also to make the game easier, however there are certain items that will increase the level of difficulty of the Infinity Engine games, making them more of a challenge.
So far the Infinity Engine has been expanded greatly by TeamBG who have produced editors for various parts of the games so that people can create their own add-on items and packages for others to share. Some of the files on this website require TeamBG's editor's to use, further help can be gained on the FAQ and Installation pages.
There are many sites already available that have many of these files available for download, although they are spread out far and wide and I wanted to create a central repository for gamers to get the files from. Therefore if you have designed any new items and want them to be available to other gamers then please submit them to me and I'll place them on here for others to use.
